“Seasons Greetings” from Macdonald Inspection
Grand
Opening of a facility in the Yukon Territories
On October 15, 1999 the Dakwakada Forest Products conducted a grand
opening at their sawmill operations at Marshall Creek, Yukon, and planer and dry
kiln facility in Haines Junction, Yukon. Dignitaries
included Champange-Aishihik band counsellors, Yukon Territory MLA’s as well as
Yukon Territory and Federal government officials.
Macdonald Inspection was proud to be part of the first dried, planed,
graded and stamped by an accredited American and Canadian agency in the Yukon
Territory. Their product a fine
grained, small knotted white spruce dimension lumber will be marketed in the
southern USA by Canadian Forest Products.
Five
students completed a Macdonald Inspection Western Red Cedar grading class
conducted in Sooke by Steve McAdam of Duncan, BC.
Three students will receive a “B” limited ticket and two will receive
a certificate of attendance. The
students have learned the basics of Western Red Cedar grading under Pacific
Lumber Inspection Bureau’s R List Rough Clears and Shop as well as NLGA
Industrial Clears, Flitches and Patio Decking.
Western
Red Cedar classes are also scheduled for Parksville, Campbell River and Squamish.
This is a notice to
remind you that we will be sending out the request for your declared production
for 1999. These figures are used to
calculate the fees for the year 2000 for ALS/CLS and NLGA.
There is an increase for NLGA.
The
